Perfect Cauliflower Rice
Ever wondered how to get perfect cauli rice?? Cauliflower makes a surprisingly effective and versatile alternative to rice - it gives that same sauce-soaking fluff of white rice, but instead of a carb overload, you get a veggie vitamin kick!
There are so many different ways to reportedly make the 'perfect' cauliflower rice, and there is a very real risk of ending up with a white sludge... but I guarantee that if you follow the below instructions will leave you with the perfect consistency! :-)
Makes 4 serves
Ingredients
- Half a head of organic cauliflower
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Method
- Break the cauliflower up into florets. Using about a cup of florets at a time, process in a blender until it reaches a rice consistency.
- Place in a non-stick saucepan over a medium-low heat (don't add water). Put the lid on and allow to steam for about 10 minutes, stirring every few minutes so it doesn't stick to the bottom.
- Once soft, stir through garlic powder (if using), salt and pepper. Serve with something saucy!
